May I suggest a DualShock4? It's got proper DINPUT support so triggers are separate axes in rF2 (no FF though).Fans will be able to compete on NASCAR rivals to win prizes and a chance to go to the NASCAR Cup Series championship. What suffers most is consistency, since it's harder to correct mistakes with the limited steering range the analog sticks provide (you can get a workable setup by playing with linearity, damping and speed sensitivity options, however things like opposite lock are always harder with a gamepad). In my experience, technical tracks with constant radius corners and straight straights (Silverstone, etc) are better suited to gamepad driving than more complex tracks with variable bends and not so many straights (Suzuka?). I'm about 0-10% slower with a gamepad, I'm not very fast with a wheel though. Villeneuve's virtual race from a month or two ago is enough proof. However, as it's been previously pointed out, you should get decent pace out of a controller. Since there's no XINPUT support in rF2, when using Xbox pads you lose FF//rumble and the ability to use triggers as separate axes - this means you can't use the throttle and the brake at the same time with the Xbox controllers in rF2 (IME at least x360 pads work with a combined trigger axis in DINPUT). All I know is it's the only controller I've ever used that I can't play games with the way I know I can. Maybe other people are just better than me with those new controllers and that's fine if I'm just a bad Xbox One controller driver. It drives me mad that they won't bring back the Wired 360 controller, all I can ever find online anymore are fake Microsoft knock-off controllers listed as genuine but they have no analog signal from their joysticks. I could drive in many different kinds of lines on all kinds of games for a decade up until I tried using an Xbox One controller. all i'm saying is that controller works fine if you don't have an alternative.and yes, i use wired xbox one controller. this is a racing game and obviously wheel is better and more natural. nobody is arguing that controller is better then wheel. that being said, some settings adjusting needs to be done to make controller work nicely. If you can't drive in a straight line then you re doing something seriously wrong. After I got a wheel my friends and I all agreed that a controller feels so disconnected from the game in comparasin to my wheel. After my old wired 360 controller broke I had to buy a wheel to keep playing my games. I can't take off in a straight line in an F1 car with an Xbox One controller.

The joysticks never sit centered in the calibration screen and the trigger buttons dont feel precise at all. My friends and I can't even drive in a straight line with an Xbox One controller because everything about them is really unstable with their inputs.
